Midnight Shows – Machete & Going the Distance

This Thursday at Midnight, really Friday morning at 12:05am if you want to be technical, will be the premieres for Robert Rodriguez’s new movie Machete. If you are unfamiliar with the story of this picture came about I’ll give you the brief. In 2007, Rodriguez and famed director Quentin Tarantino released a double feature movie experience known as Grindhouse. From IMDB, Grindhouse was created to be…

An homage to exploitation B-movie thrillers that combines two feature-length segments into one double-bill designed to replicate the grind house theatergoing experience of the 70s and 80s.

In between each of the features and before the entire show started, fake trailers were shown that were created in the same Grindhouse like fashion. Machete was one of those trailers and received such popular buzz that it could not be ignored, and thus Machete was greenlighted for an actual movie. It is sure to be action packed and fun and has a great cast.

Also showing will be Going the Distance Drew Barrymore’s newest ride into the romantic comedy genre. The film is about two young lovers who try end things off rather than pursue a long distance relationship, but later find out that not having a relationship might just be harder than making one work.

Both shows this Thursday @ Midnight!
